Following a year of significant growth, we are recruiting for one or more Junior Technical Officers to join our dynamic team delivering the company’s DNA Profiling and Relationship Testing services. Ideally, we are looking for recent science graduates or degree qualified individuals at the beginning of their scientific career who wish to learn from industry leaders and develop their own scientific knowledge and working experience.

The Role

This position requires the individual to undertake a range of interesting and exciting genetic applications that constitute to the day-to-day commercial testing carried out in NorthGene’s new Newcastle, city centre based laboratories. Laboratory work will be in accordance with the appropriate standard operating procedures, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of results within our ISO17025 compliant services. The individual may also be given responsibility for new projects as the Company grows.

About You

We are looking for “can do” individuals with an inherent willingness to research, develop and explore scientific methodologies and ideas whilst delivering in a growing business. You will need to enjoy working in the laboratory. The role requires excellent communication and IT skills and ability to work in a changing environment on complex projects. You will need to be a teamworker with an ability to easily interact with colleagues and customers on fast-paced projects.
