What relationship does siblingship testing prove?
Siblingship DNA tests can be carried out to determine whether two people are full or half siblings (sisters or brothers).

  • Full siblings have the same mother and the same father.
  • Half siblings only share one biological parent.
Who needs to be tested?

How reliable are the results?
The likelihood of obtaining a conclusive result when undertaking a sibling test varies depending on which individuals are participating in the case.

When testing if two individuals are Full or Half Siblings:
